"Young virtuosos create real magic on stage!"
Concert with Marcelo Álvarez, Moscow 2014
Clarity, virtuosity and passion are brand names of the orchestra. The musicians enchant with "a remarkably authentic tango sound“ (Tangodanza, Germany) and delicate arrangements.
Tango in the 21st century transcends national borders and genre. Tango Spleen enchants and enthralls with its sounds of classical tango, lesser-known melodies of the Argentine hinterland, jazzy Piazzolla and their own virtuoso compositions. According to the motto: out with the old, in with the new.
Founded in 2010 in Italy by the Argentine pianist and singer Mariano Speranza, the ensemble has built its musical career to become recognized as "one of the leading tango orchestras of recent times", with prestigious collaborations and international success. Main orchestra at important international tango festivals, it has been awarded the "Suoni Senza Confini“ for its original composition “Milonga Schupi“, has been collaborating with the Italian singer of progressive rock Bernardo Lanzetti and its recent debut in Moscow, together with the great tenor Marcelo Álvarez, was acclaimed by critics and public alike: "Young virtuosos create real magic on stage!“
